As a student in 11th grade at ACGC, I'm involved in FFA. FFA stands for more than Future Farmers of America. It also stands for a program that teaches students lifelong skills. In our classes, we learn plants, animals, wildlife, machinery and parliamentary procedure.

However, students gain more than just academic knowledge. FFA has helped me gain confidence and has given me the courage and the knowledge to give a speech in front of a judge. I gained leadership skills that helped me become more active in our chapter. FFA has given me the courage to run for an office on the chapter level and I'm currently surving as our reporter.

If the referendum does not pass, FFA may be cut. More than 30 students will be harmed. Voters need to know that by this action, losing FFA will harm our entire ag community. I urge voters to support ACGC schools and programs such as FFA that make students better citizens.
