Letter: Don't be fooled, voters

This election season beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing. Some politicians will say anything to get re-elected. Collin Peterson is a prime example. He talks conservative here but acts liberal in Washington, D.C.

This election season beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing. Some politicians will say anything to get re-elected. Collin Peterson is a prime example. He talks conservative here but acts liberal in Washington, D.C.

He says that he is for the farmer but his farm bill is simply more big government with a small benefit to the local farmer. He (with Pelosi and Obama) empowers the EPA to tax your dust production. Please, do not believe the talk about an exemption for farmers. He voted to tax the carbon dioxide that your cattle may produce or that your tractor expels. He will tax you again on your energy usage.

A question: Where is the EPA mentioned in the U.S. Constitution? The better candidate for Congress, Lee Byberg believes in the Constitution as it was written.

On the local front, Al Juhnke is also for big government which will take away your freedoms and money in taxes. To paraphrase, in a recent debate on term limits, he said that it did not matter who was the elected official, it is the bureaucrats in St. Paul who run things. Excuse me, Mr. Juhnke, you were elected to take responsibility and to rein in and control the bureaucrats. Do your job, or better yet, let Bruce Vogel do it for you.

Yes, this election season do not be fooled into believing the howlings of Peterson or Juhnke on what they have done for us. There is a reason for the U.S. and the Minnesota Constitutions. That reason is to limit big government and bring more freedom to you. A vote for conservative Republicans is a vote to allow you to spend your money, not the government!
