For nearly the last 20 years I have had the privilege of assisting Dr. Lyle Munneke in the morgue at Rice Hospital. Working in such a place is not glamorous. Rather, it is a somber place where an individual's heart and soul is tested.
The strength and character of Dr. Munneke's spirit was strong. He treated each case with utmost care, respect and dignity. Moreover, he treated us who assisted him in the same manner. We will miss him.
