Paul Anderson of Starbuck is the Republican candidate for the Minnesota House of Representatives in District 13A. I have had the privilege of getting to know Paul these past months through personal interviews and at the endorsing convention.
Anderson is a hard working, involved person. He is active in his church, community and various area organizations. He is currently a county commissioner; serves on the Prairie Lakes Coop Board, Chippewa River Watershed, and the Minnewaska Laker Foundation. He is a former school board member, township officer and church council member. Anderson is a Minnesota High School League certified sports official and has been a radio announcer and a columnist for the Pope County Tribune.
Anderson is a practicing fourth generation farmer who is married to Faith (Sumption) and has three grown children. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
He is very active with energy issues and agriculture and is a member of the Chippewa Valley Ethanol Coop, Minnesota Farm Bureau, Minnesota Corn Growers and Minnesota Soybean Growers. He understands agriculture and energy challenges in rural Minnesota.
A former school board member, he is very aware of the need for fair and equitable funding for schools in rural Minnesota. He understands the curricular and funding needs of greater Minnesota schools. He stays connected with young people and schools through the Lake Foundation and officiating.

In addition to his educational, agricultural and energy involvement, Anderson is very much aware of the need for economic growth and business health in rural Minnesota. He is very clear about the creation of jobs through economic development.
