It was most encouraging to read a positive plan being presented by Sen. Joe Gimse regarding ID cards for undocumented workers here in the state of Minnesota (West Central Tribune, Oct. 29).
I appreciate Gimse's effort and his focus on doing something to get beyond the impasse we are now living with in this country and this state in regard to this urgent issue. It will most certainly be a struggle to forge a workable solution, and that is why I am so grateful to see some positive steps being discussed. It is always easier to be part of the problem than the solution.
Count me in on working toward the solution. This is not a matter of one's political party; it is a matter of being a member of the human family and a global community.
