Adolf Hitler once said if you tell a big lie loud enough and long enough, after a while people will believe it. The big lie we are being told in so many letters in this forum is that if we favor voting on an amendment to protect one-man, one-woman marriage we are simply hate-filled bigots.
Since hysteria seems to be clouding proper thinking, maybe we need to go back and redefine the problem.
A group of people representing less than 3 percent of our population and who suffer from a psychological disorder want to change the definition of marriage from a one-man, one-woman union to something which also can mean two men living together and performing acts of sodomy on each other. But the man/woman union definition is simply a part of complying with the natural law, which was in place long before Judeo-Christian systems of belief came into being.
Now the common man (not necessarily a religious type) whose mind has not been infected with disorientation understands and respects the natural law. He does not see bulls with bulls, roosters with roosters, etc., when he observes nature. He knows in his heart that there is something fundamentally wrong with two men performing these acts on each other.
He knows that refusing to give legal status to this behavior is not discrimination, it's just plain common sense being applied for the emotional, mental and physical health of society in general. He knows that once this perversion is defined as marriage, there will be no legal/logical reason why several men, a man and a boy, a woman and her cat, etc., cannot also be defined as a marriage. Marriage then takes on the characteristic of sick joke. Bottom line, people are not born homosexual, they are simply heterosexuals with an acquired homosexual problem who can be helped, if they want it.
