I don't usually write letters to the editor, but I think the people who will be voting for state senator need to know what I know about Joe Gimse.
I have known Joe for almost 10 years. He and his brother Jerry used to be my employers until last year when they sold their tree service company.
When I worked for Gimse, I was always impressed by the way he conducted himself as a boss. He was always patient with all of his employees when mistakes were made. I don't ever remember him losing his temper or shouting at anyone. When something went wrong, I knew I could tell him and he would be mostly concerned with finding a solution to the problem.
When things went well, he was always the first to say well done. He has a funny way of praising his employees by saying we did a great job and he would give us an official "atta boy."
Last year when I told him I wanted to build a business for myself, he told me that I had been building a great business. He explained to me how I had been so important in making the tree business so successful. He didn't just sell me the business, he helped me through every step, from setting up the accounting, purchasing insurance, and even the difficult part of financing the business. He has been there whenever I've needed advice or help on anything.

Joe Gimse helped me to achieve my part of the American Dream. He is my friend and continues to be my mentor. He does what he says he will do. I'm proud to support him for election to the state Senate. He will do a good job for us all.
