There is a bumper sticker that says, "God bless the rest of the world too," and "Support our troops, bring them home." As a believer in a just and loving God, I find it hard to believe that we are the only ones that need a blessing. Doesn't America include more than the United States? I know America is used across the world to refer to us, the United States; but if we are going to use that phrase, we should add, "That includes the rest of the American continent." It is obvious that the "rest" need a blessing too.
I notice that politicians of all stripes feel the need to tack that on at the end. "God bless America." OK, what do we want for a blessing? Winning wars and getting our way? Getting richer and richer and richer? Or could it be found in the Sermon on the Mount? You can find it in Matthew, Chapter 5.
As for the other bumper sticker, "Support our troops." I can't imagine anyone who would say, "Don't support our troops." Can you? Our troops weren't asked if going to war was a good idea. That was the idea of George W. Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz and Rumsfeld, none of whom were willing to be part of our troops when they had the chance.
Recently, there have been ads on the TV from servicemen and families, who are asking for support of the war. One phrase used is "I don't want my son's death to have been in vain."
In other words, we have to keep on having more of our troops killed and maimed, forever if need be, so those that already have died were not in vain. Once we have spent billions of dollars on this war we have to keep spending so that it wasn't in vain. Makes sense, doesn't it?

If we keep this up, let's have a draft, so that everybody gets a chance to die for this great cause. When the sons and daughters of the elites of this country get a draft notice, this war will end. Just like magic.
