Hypocrisy among Republicans

I arrived home after work to find more political junk mail in our box. That necessarily would not be a bad thing, (if there were any truth in it).

However, in case folks have forgotten, the Minnesota Legislature and governorship have been controlled by -- who? -- that's right, the Republicans.

So before you start accusing our fine, upstanding, hard-working senator, Gary Kubly, or Reps. Lyle Koenen and Aaron Peterson, perhaps you should examine your own house first, before you start talking about the do-nothing Legislature of late.

You were, after all, the the controlling party, were you not? As for Koenen taking a per diem during the government shutdown (which he voted against, by the way), would the Republican legislators please stand who did not take a per diem? I thought so. As an example, per diems collected during the government shutdown by Republicans: Speaker of the House Steve Sviggum, $1,584; Francis A. Bradley $2,112; Dean A. Simpson $1,980, just to list a few according to your own junk mail.

I could go on, but why? I think/hope you have the idea by now. Isn't it just a shame that the controlling party will say and or do anything to retain its leadership role, whether it be right here in Minnesota, or our nation's capital, Washington D.C.?
