I want to take this opportunity to thank the voters of District 13B for the support you showed me on election day. I am honored by the vote of confidence and I hope you know I'll continue to work hard on behalf of our communities. This is a responsibility that I take very seriously.

This January, Minnesota's state government will look vastly different as there will be a new majority in the Minnesota House. Our focus on the issues that matter most to Minnesotans -- great schools, affordable health care, access to higher education and lower property taxes -- played a major role in that victory, but I think part of victory was a rejection of the hyper-partisanship of the past few years.

With the election behind us, I look forward to working with Gov. Tim Pawlenty and my counterparts in the Senate to secure a bright future for our area and for all the people of our state. We have an opportunity to work together on a common agenda that will move Minnesota forward. I'm already pleased to learn that the governor has agreed to support a House DFL plan to cover the 68,000 Minnesota kids without health insurance. I hope we will be able to agree on many more issues such as this.

Rep. Al Juhnke

District 13B
