I've known Bud Heidgerken as a fellow teacher, softball, baseball and wrestling coach, and as a former Brooten councilman. He has been successful in each of these areas.
More than ever, rural Minnesota needs to return Bud to St. Paul. He's been an effective representative and has fought hard for rural equity. His accomplishments are great and have touched us all.
I've noticed he's received a couple of very-difficult-to-receive awards.
In 2005, in only his third year in office, he received the 2005 Legislator of the Year Award from the 543 school board association. He was only one of two members of the 134-member House to receive the award. I'm sure it was because of his hard work for rural Minnesota students.
He also was one of five House members to serve on the all-important Education Conference Committee determining where and how nearly half of the state's total money will be spent. Because of his hard work, rural teachers have endorsed him.

He's received an enormous amount of endorsements and also was the only member of the House chosen by MAELC and given the Ag Leadership Award in 2005.
Again, he is only one of eight members of the present House to receive Care Providers and Nursing Homes endorsement because of his effective legislation on their behalf.
Let's keep Bud batting for us!
