On Nov. 13 a letter to the editor was written with great disgust about the ACGC levy not being passed. I do have one question for the letter writer, though: Just exactly how much money does the ACGC school need to be adequately funded? For the combination of the 2008 and 2009 school years ACGC will receive $18,510 per pupil.
Now by comparison before Dassel-Cokato's levy of approximately $460 per pupil passed, Dassel-Cokato will receive $14,724 for both years. Now for the interesting part: With the almost $4,000 in extra revenue, ACGC's test scores for math and reading are at 44 percent and 56 percent respectively. Dassel-Cokato's are at 58 percent and 72 percent respectively. So maybe the question should fall on the teachers and administrators and not the taxpayers.
