I understand that there is a high concern for poverty in Minnesota especially around the Willmar area, but I don't see what legislators are accomplishing by visiting these areas.
These places that they want to visit obviously are areas of concern, but wouldn't it make sense for politicians to find a way to get funds to these people that struggle for need, rather than observing and taking tours of ethnically diverse areas and trailer parks?
I find it hard to believe that they do not know of the problem already that they need to see firsthand. Instead of using funds to travel to the surrounding areas, use it towards a plan that can conquer poverty and raise these people's lives.
