The present health care system is irreparably broken. The replacement must be a new system where health care is not linked to employment. The priority of government should be assuring a sound public health infrastructure and basic health care to all citizens. Responsibility for lifestyle health care costs must be transferred back to individuals. A new system should allow patient choice and might include a system of private competitive insurance. I do not support a constitutional amendment guaranteeing health care. An amendment would make improvements difficult to achieve and be too restrictive.
My "plan" has been presented at public forums, radio interviews and in the survey reports printed by 10 area publications, as well as on my Website and literature.
