Referring to Harlan Broer's letter, published Nov. 20, it's not just his wacko religious views President Bush promotes. It's also his wacko political ideology of helping the rich to help the poor, plus his wacko policy of growing the economy with borrowed money which was first tried when Ronald Reagan was president. The people never understood that the taxes they were paying during the Clinton years were paying off Reagan's trillion-dollar debt because of that scam.
When the foolishness in Iraq finally ends and the soldiers return, they will discover the country has been running on credit and they are stuck to pay for the war they fought. Bush and company have borrowed our country almost $9 trillion into debt. This debt has already served its purpose. Most of the money is in the hands of a few rich citizens. It's their money now.
Greed is stronger than loyalty, so no doubt much of this money will be spent in foreign countries. Just one example: The Bush family has purchased an enormous estate (maybe 175,000 acres) in Paraguay. Is our president planning to move? Read it in "The Week" magazine (Nov. 20). By deceiving and scaring the people into agreeing to his war, Bush gained power as commander in chief and maintained his agenda. He and his followers pulled off the biggest heist in history. They stole the future tax money of the American people for at least the next 20 years.
Will the people understand that from now on, the bulk of the federal taxes they pay will go for interest and principal payments on a $9 trillion mortgage on our country because of this great rip-off of the taxpayers?
