The Newville family is thankful that the press continues to run articles about Danny Newville when the anniversary of his disappearance is brought to their attention. We also appreciate those who have been caring enough to come forward with any information that may help us find Danny and/or bring closure to this heartrending ordeal.
There were discrepancies mentioned this year. Danny's dad, Russ, who is fighting in Iraq right now, reported Danny as missing earlier than stated. He was told a report couldn't be made at that time. It is difficult to report a person as missing when they are of legal age and no longer living with a family member. We tried contacting Danny's friends to find him while we waited to file a report.
Danny's disappearance was finally taken seriously when an anonymous call told police that Danny had been severely beaten and "dumped" in his grandfather's yard. It was disturbing to his family to wake up to the police at the door and be given this information.
We believe the Sheriff's Department is doing their best to find Danny. We also think that some of his acquaintaces know what happened and aren't saying anything out of fear or shame for their involvement. If anyone knows where Danny is, please contact the Sheriff's Department or tell Danny to call us.
