I downloaded the following resolution from the Minnesota DFL Web site under: Party Documents; DFL Action Agenda for 2006 - 2008. The resolution is titled "Civil, Human, and Constitutional Rights", and states the following: "Oppose any constitutional amendment that prohibits or limits marriage, civil unions, and/or legal protections for same-sex couples."
Is it any wonder that Johnson "sands off the truth"? His own Minnesota DFL Party is one-upping the senator's lies with some of their own. In a recent mailer the DFL says, "Dean Johnson has always known that marriage is between one man and one woman. And Dean Johnson will make sure that remains the law in Minnesota." That's a lie, because Johnson's DFL party agenda above says just the opposite.
Next their flier states, "Now outside groups are lying about Dean Johnson and trying to scare us into voting against him." On the contrary, both local and outside groups are publishing the facts about Johnson that can be verified by his record and his party's agenda.
It appears that the DFL is so afraid we District 13 voters are not going to vote for their senator and their pro-homosexual agenda that they are sending out mailings that contradict their own stated agenda.
A very famous person (my mom) once said, "A person is known by the company they keep." Johnson's company includes the Minnesota DFL and OutFront Minnesota, another pro-homosexual activist group. If that's what you want, vote for Johnson. However, if you are really pro-life and pro-traditional marriage, you can and should vote for Joe Gimse.
