For those of you who struggle (as I do) for ideas for practical gifts to buy parents for Mother's or Father's Day, my children came up with a wonderful idea a couple of years ago, and repeated it last year.
They made a donation in my name to the Humane Society. Our local Humane Society is struggling to raise funds to build a facility of its own, and any amount of money would be much appreciated! Most parents and grandparents do not need more "stuff" and would appreciate knowing that you donated to one of their favorite causes!
If you choose to make that the Humane Society, their Web site is www.pawsiblecause.com , where there is a "make a donation" option. Of course, the scholarship funds at our local high schools are also options, as well as numerous other charities.
