Some of my readers and friends missed by my letters, as they've remarked. I did hear one bright note in the news. It's Sen. Edward Kennedy to the rescue, who is now backing legislation that would deny funding to send the new surge of troops to Iraq the end of this month. As a show of support to the Bush administration's cause in Iraq, I voted for Amy Klobuchar and Collin Peterson, as did the majority of Minnesotans. The nation voted accordingly.
It's time the Republican right wing that boasts its respect for life so righteously understand that we, the majority, want no more money put into the war and no more young Americans to die. Saddam Hussein is dead now. Let's not beat a dead horse. This war is about oil. It's about greed. That is Republican ethics -- more, more and none for the poor. It's time to move on and out of Iraq.
