To all residents of the RCW School District: I have been involved with children much of my life -- some my own, some yours. It is a privilege many of our citizens have shared. We are all educators in some way. A few are on the front lines actually teaching our children daily. The rest of us are asked to support and contribute by voting "yes" for a levy to promote and enhance that education.
We are given about 13 years to help each child gain the learning it takes to become a productive employee, a good citizen, a responsible person.
Let's not lose our focus because of money. We all benefit from a community of responsible people. Let's focus on dollars well spent: on a school board who is doing their best to keep us afloat. Most important, focus on the children, the people who, tomorrow, will lead our communities. Show them we care about them now and in the future.
Vote yes in the RCW School referendum on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
