I see where the "heavy hitters" from St. Paul called the Senate Victory Fund are going after Sen. Dean Johnson at this late date with very little time to respond to their charges.
Justice Russell Anderson has said that no member of the Minnesota Supreme Court has made any commitment to Johnson, which in essence doesn't really tell us anything.
I would bet my last shirt that something was said or a nod was made during an informal coffee break, when at least one justice gave Johnson the leeway to say what he said about the so-called marriage amendment. It's true that we sometimes "stretch the truth" when trying to make a point with someone we are trying to impress.
In my opinion, Dean Johnson is the best legislator to ever come out of our senatorial district, and to lose him would be the worst tragedy to ever befall western Minnesota.
