I do not live in Willmar but do work, shop and attend church in town. As I drive around town I am seeing many, many houses for sale. Houses that do not appear to be extremely expensive homes, yet look to be in decent condition. Houses in all different areas of town.

My question is, why aren't these homes good enough? Why not put money into these sellers' pockets -- as well as the Realtors, inspectors, and everyone else involved in the sale of a home?

Why build more homes to flood the market? Why would anyone want a congregate of low-income homes? This has been tried in many cities, they are known as "projects."

Considering that a home is a person's largest investment, to what gain to its citizens does the Willmar City Council approve this housing project? None! Those near that area most definitely would lose substantial value in their home. Just because you have a grant doesn't mean it is fiscally responsible to use it.
