I recently read about the explosive growth of committees and budgets in the Minnesota House of Representatives under the control of the Democrats. This expensive waste of tax dollars is shameful. It's not about efficiency and keeping with a part-time Legislature, but rather about "propping up" vulnerable DFL lawmakers with junkets around the state, more staff, and expensive per diems for politicians.
The Republicans have vowed to cut the number of these bloated committees and their budgets by over 50 percent. Hats off to them for revealing the government waste that has exploded under Democrat control. No wonder there's not enough money for other important areas in the budget like education or health care. It's time for change!
