A high priority issue of many voters is quality education. It is clear that Bonnie Wilhelm does not understand education funding. In a recent Tribune article she stated that education funding was adequate. If this is true, then why are my sons' teachers asking me to buy basic items like Kleenex and hand sanitizer for his class? These basic necessities should be purchased by the schools. In addition, if schools were funded sufficiently, we would not be continually inundated with school fund raisers.

Wilhelm also indicated that college tuition increases are the result of increased demand for college courses. Nothing could be further from the truth. College tuition is not market driven. In fact, as enrollment increases, college tuition should decrease. Tuition has gone up because the state's portion of education has been under-funded.

I am voting for Al Junke. He understands and supports education.
