It's almost time to vote, and this political season can't end too soon for me! It's an unfortunate reality that, especially in an election year, "Minnesota Nice" is thrown to the wind in favor of winning at any cost. I just can't remain silent, though, and not refute the personal attacks being leveled against Bonnie Wilhelm, challenger to Al Juhnke in next Tuesday's election.

I have known Wilhelm for more than 10 years. Most of that time, she was production manager for the Barn Theatre, and I served as director or musical director for many shows under her leadership. She was at all times professional, organized, helpful, tireless, and encouraging. Her ability to bring people together to assemble an efficient and successful team is one of her greatest achievements. If she didn't know the answer, she knew how to find it. Her decisions always sought the win-win and, even in the tough ones, she didn't burn bridges.

Bonnie Wilhelm's character is honest and forthright. Just ask anyone who knows her.
