In 1974, President Richard Nixon signed an executive order establishing a week to celebrate volunteerism. Every year since, local, state, and national officials have supported National Volunteer Week. It is during this time of volunteer celebrations that I express a heartfelt thank you to the citizens and merchants of Willmar from the Willmar Area Women of Today.
Over the past year our community members and business people have volunteered numerous hours with their support for our organization and its members.
Without the help and support of our community, the Willmar Area Women of Today would not be able to promote and organize a variety of projects including the Kids ID program and the Willmar Junior Miss program. The majority of funds raised by the Willmar Area Women of Today are returned to the community and charitable foundations.
Our organization is proud to have contributed to the growth of Willmar by following our creed that states, "May we leave the world a better place because we lived and served within it."
