Level 2 sex offender Jimmie Dale Peake, 43, who was sought by law enforcement for registration violations, was taken into custody around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, the Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office reported.
The sheriff's office announced Monday they were looking for Peake.
Crow Wing County Sheriff Todd Dahl thanked the public for the steady flow of information that assisted law enforcement in locating Peake.
"It's situations like this that proves that the eyes and ears of law enforcement is the public. We couldn't do our job without the good people of Crow Wing County," Dahl said in a news release.
Peake is being held in the Crow Wing County Jail and is awaiting his court appearance.
