BENSON -- The Benson School Board approved Monday levying $878,744 in 2006.
That levy is 21.5 percent higher than this year's levy. Most of the increase is due to the state changing the percentage it contributes to school districts, Superintendent Carl Remmers said.
Also Monday, the board discussed starting all-day, everyday kindergarten in the 2006-07 school year, but did not make a decision. It will be discussed again at its Jan. 3 meeting.
The board also approved the only snow removal quote it received from Rick Motzko of Benson. The district will be charged $52 an hour for snow removal requiring equipment and $25 an hour for snow removal by hand, Remmers said.
