BIRD ISLAND -- Linda Kay Zahnow, 54, of Bird Island died Sunday at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Olivia. Burial will be at Roseland Reformed Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Arrangements are with Dirks-Blem Funeral Service in Olivia.
She was born June 29, 1952, in Willmar to Edward and Amelia (Lundgren) Ulferts. She graduated from Central Minnesota Christian Schools and later from Willmar Community College with a degree in psychology. She worked as a waitress in Olivia for many years and then at Hutchinson Technology for nine years.

She married Doug Zahnow on Oct. 11, 1977, and they later divorced. She lived in Bird Island with her boyfriend, Duane Hanson.
She is survived by three children: Marlana Zahnow (and fiancé Tom Paul) of Hutchinson, Michael Zahnnow of Chandler, Ariz., Jodi Zahnow of Willmar; one granddaughter; special friend: Duane Hanson of Bird Island; and her siblings: Eleanor (and Francis) Marcus of Willmar, Darlene (and Marvin) Koch of Savage, Lori (and Bud) Sandberg of Granite Falls, Karen (and Gerry) Stiemsma of Silver Lake, Wis., Mike (and Janice) Ulferts of Willmar, and Darrel (and Shirley) Ulferts of Edgerton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.
