LITCHFIELD -- The Litchfield School District and teachers' assistants have reached a labor agreement. The assistants will receive a 3.79 percent in increase in wages and benefits in the 2005-06 school year and a 4.1 percent increase in wages and benefits in the 2006-07 school year, Superintendent Bill Wold said.
The Litchfield School Board approved the agreement at its Monday meeting.
There are 65 teachers' assistants in the district, Wold said.
Also at the meeting, the board elected officers. Terry Tancabel was renamed chairman. Stacey Helstrom will be vice chairwoman, Karla Rick will be clerk and John Spreiter will be treasurer.
Three school board members will be up for election this year. They are Tancabel, Spreiter and Dan Dollerschell.
