ALBERT LEA -- The Little Crow Ski Team took first place at the 2006 Midwest Regional Show Ski Tournament July 29-30 at Albert Lea.

The title is Little Crow's 13th in 14 years. Waterloo, Iowa, placed second and Sioux Falls, S.D., was third.

The ski team also took home the trophy for the Highest Scoring Act. Individually, Anne Bruckner took first in the swivel competition and the Jump Team of Logan Asche, Nick Dahlen, Cole Lundberg, Ryan Marcus, Jared Swenson, Trent Fader, Ryan Fader, Luke Hartog and Justin Zylstra won a region title. Doubles pair Greg Hedman and Stacy Boesch took second.

Weather conditions in Albert Lea were hot and humid, forcing three stopages of the competition for safety reasons. Two were for heat-related problems and the other was equipment-related.

The Little Crow Ski Team qualifies for the Division I National Show Ski Tournament, which will be held Aug. 11-13 in Janesville, Wis. Little Crow won national titles in 1994 and 1998. The team placed third in the national tournament last season.
