ATWATER -- Lloyd LaVerne Carley, 84, of Atwater died Tuesday at the Clara City Care Center in Clara City.
The service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Atwater Funeral Home in Atwater. Burial will be at Union Cemetery.
Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
He was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Atwater to Edward and Norva (Atter) Carley. He grew up in Atwater and graduated from Atwater High School in 1941.

He married Phoebe Holmgren on March 2, 1946. They lived and farmed in Acton Township, near Atwater, and retired in 1963. Phoebe died in 1982. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease in 2000 and lived in several health care facilities.
He is survived by two daughters: Beverly (and John) Finnegan of Wadena, Marsha (and Stanley) Herzberg of Paynesville; six grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Lorraine Akre of St. Cloud, Norva (and Emerald) Bomstad of Chaska, and Fern Skallerud of Madison.
He was preceded in death by his wife; one brother, two sisters, and two infant siblings.
