ATWATER -- Several University of Minnesota Extension educators and specialists have scheduled corn and soybean production meetings called "Barriers to Bushels," including a meeting March 11 at the Atwater Community Center.

At the Atwater session, Doug Holen will talk about soybean ground rolling and Jodi DeJong-Hughes will speak on tillage in wet conditions. Fall rain and spring snow melt makes this a relevant topic for some farms this year.

Bruce Potter from the Lamberton research center will address invertebrates attacking corn roots. Corn rootworms and nematodes are a couple of examples.

Extension corn specialist Jeff Coulter will cover corn agronomic practices.

Soils specialist Dan Kaiser will discuss sulfur needs for crops and iron chlorosis management in soybeans.
