DANUBE — A 66-year-old man from Danube was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment after falling 15 feet from a bucket of a skid loader.

In a news release, Renville County Sheriff Scott Hable said the Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call for an ambulance at 10:15 a.m Thursday in the 29000 block of 840th Avenue in Danube.

According to the release, 66-year-old William Voelz of Danube fell 15 feet and landed on his neck.

First responders discovered Voelz on the ground in a gravel pit next to a skid loader. Preliminary investigation revealed Voelz was standing in the bucket of a skid loader, attempting to cut down a pole. When the pole was cut, it hit Voelz, knocking him out of the bucket.

Voelz sustained serious injuries from the fall, and was flown to a trauma center. The release did not list or specify the name of the trauma center.
