WILLMAR — Following a multi-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic, barbershop music from various quartets and student singers from around the region filled Willmar Senior High School on Saturday evening during the Youth in Harmony festival.

Musical performances came from the West Central Connection Barbershop Chorus, Sound Image, After Thought, Kordal Kombat and the Youth in Harmony chorus. Leading up to the hour-long performance, area students rehearsed throughout the day with their peers and director Peter Benson to ready themselves for the audience.

One of the goals from the gathering of talented singers is to hopefully instill a passion for barbershop or a cappella music in the students to keep the tradition going strong for future generations to come.
