Driver injured in rollover Thursday morning on Highway 71/23 split north of Willmar
WILLMAR — A 39-year-old man from Guatemala suffered non-life-threatening injuries when his pickup truck rolled around 7:53 a.m. Thursday at the U.S. Highway 71 and Minnesota Highway 23 split, north of Willmar.


Johnny Ruis was transported to Carris Health — Rice Memorial Hospital. He was also cited for not having a Minnesota driver's license, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
Ruis, driving a Chevrolet pickup truck, was headed northbound on Highway 71 and lost control of the vehicle. It ran off the road and rolled, the State Patrol said.
Semis blow over Thursday on Highway 23 north of Granite Falls
GRANITE FALLS — The Minnesota Department of Transportation District 8 had to close traffic lanes Thursday afternoon on Minnesota Highway 23 north of Granite Falls and on U.S. Highway 75 north of Ivanhoe for over an hour due to semitractor-trailers having tipped over due to the high winds.

The lanes were closed to allow tow trucks room to work to get the semis upright and off the roadway.
