Willmar School Board meets Monday to revise 2021-2022 budget

WILLMAR — A revised budget for the 2021-22 school year is on the agenda for the Willmar School Board’s Monday meeting.

The board will meet at 4:30 p.m. Monday at the Willmar Education and Arts Center.

A budget revision is routine for Willmar Public Schools. The state requires school districts to adopt their budgets before their fiscal year begins July 1. However, information about grants and other funding is often not available until later in the year.

In addition to revising the budget, the board’s agenda includes increasing meal prices for the first time in several years and the state’s comments on the proposed Middle School addition.

The board sets aside two times during its meetings for public comment. People who wish to speak about issues on the meeting agenda are heard at the beginning of the meeting. Those who want to talk about issues not on the agenda are heard at the end of the meeting.
