WILLMAR — Acceptance of more than $54,000 in donations and a tax abatement proposal are on the agenda for the Willmar School Board meeting at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, at the Willmar Education and Arts Center.

According to the agenda packet for Monday, the board is scheduled to adopt a resolution accepting gifts that will benefit music, Early Childhood, the Child Guide Program and the football program.

Meetings are open to the public. The board sets aside time for public comments twice during its meetings.

Comments on issues on the meeting's agenda are allowed at the beginning of the meeting. Comments about issues not on the agenda are heard at the end of the meeting.

The full agenda can be found on the school district's web page at willmar.k12.mn.us.

Our newsroom occasionally reports stories under a byline of "West Central Tribune staff report." Often, the "West Central Tribune staff report" byline is used when rewriting basic news briefs that originate from official sources, such as a city press release about a road closure, and which require little or no reporting. At times, this byline is used when a news story includes numerous authors or when the story is formed by aggregating previously reported news from various sources. If outside sources are used, it is noted within the story.
