WILLMAR -- Lois Winnifred Dahlen, 84, of Willmar, died Saturday at Northridge Care Center in New Hope.

The service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Calvary Lutheran Church in Willmar. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar. Memorials are preferred.

She was born June 21, 1922, in St. Paul to John and Emma (Hamre) Jordahl. She grew up in Thief River Falls. She graduated from high school in 1940, attended normal training in Thief River Falls and graduated in 1942. She taught school in rural Fergus Falls and later worked in banks in Minneapolis and Thief River Falls.

She married Olaf Dahlen on Aug. 29, 1945. They lived in Thief River Falls until 1962 and then moved to Willmar.

She was active in church, community organizations and social groups in Thief River Falls and Willmar. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, Kandiyohi Historical Society, and four Norwegian lags. She was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. She volunteered at the West Central Workshop for several years.

She is survived by her husband; children: Michael (and Linda) Dahlen of Blaine, Patricia (and David) Lundstrom of Sioux Falls, S.D., Rebecca (and Gerald) Tischer of Frederic, Wis.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter: Mary Lynn; and one great-granddaughter.
