WOOD LAKE -- Lorna Anna Ellen Braun, 84, of Marshall, formerly of Wood Lake, died Wednesday at Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wood Lake. Burial will be at the church cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at St. John's Lutheran Church, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service, and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Redwood Valley Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.

She was born June 22, 1921, in Posen Township, Yellow Medicine County, to George and Flora (Markgraf) LaFrentz.

She married Donald Braun on April 12, 1942, at her parents' residence in Posen Township. They lived in Wood Lake where she worked in the school cafeteria. They moved to Russell in 1964. She also worked at the school cafeteria in Russell. They returned to Wood Lake in 1977. Donald died in 1994. She moved to St. Cloud for two years and then moved to Boulder Estates in Marshall. She moved to Morningside Heights Care Center in Marshall two years ago.

She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the 3 G's Birthday Club.

She is survived by her children: Barbara Himle of St. Cloud, Sandra (and Woody) Miller of Minneota, Steven (and Pat) Braun of Cottonwood, LeeAnn (and Charles) Zvorak of Cold Spring, Kevin Braun of Wood Lake, Alane (and Mailen) Pringle of Cottonwood; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; and siblings: Verla Wiegers of Marshall and Kenneth LaFrentz of St. Cloud.

She was preceded in death by her husband and one brother.
