BROOTEN -- Lorne G. Schnackenberg, 65, of Brooten died Tuesday at Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
The service will be at 2 p.m. today at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Glenwood. Burial will follow in Grove Lake Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. He was born March 2, 1942, in Stearns County to Melrose and Selma (Arndt) Schnackenberg. When he was 3 years old, they moved to Cosmos. In 1959, he moved to Sedan.
He married Joan Fabel on Dec. 1, 1961, in Brooten. They lived on a farm near Brooten. He worked for Duininick Brothers Construction as a heavy equipment operator for 35 years.

He is survived by his wife; son: Michael Schnackenberg of Brooten; daughter: Sandra Schnackenberg of Alexandria; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister: Marlys Teteris of Eureka Springs, Ariz.; and brothers: Junior (and Kathy) Schnackenberg of Apple Valley and Arlen Schnackenberg of Colrado.
He was preceded in death by one brother.
