BELGRADE -- Lorraine Johanna Gerding, 88, of Melrose, formerly of Belgrade, died Friday at Pine Villa Care Center in Melrose.
The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, with a 5:30 p.m. Christian Mothers rosary and a 7:30 p.m. parish prayer service, and one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

She was born March 21, 1919, in Melrose to Joseph and Josephine (Maas) Trisko. She grew up in Melrose, where she attended St. Boniface Elementary School and Melrose High School, graduating in 1937.
On March 29, 1940, she married Gene Gerding in St. Cloud. They lived in Elrosa before moving to Belgrade in 1947. She worked as a homemaker. They moved to Melrose in 2004.
She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church where she was active in Christian Mothers, church choir and parish council.
She is survived by her husband; children: Dr. Dale (and Mary) Gerding of Chicago, Dr. James (and Dodie) Gerding of Spokane, Wash., and Susan (and Steven) Chirhart of North Oaks; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
