BROOTEN -- Lorraine Marie Fettig, 74, of Brooten died Saturday at the St. Cloud Hospital.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Donatus Catholic Church in Brooten. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Hoplin-Hitchcock Funeral Chapel in Brooten and for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
She was born Jan. 6, 1932, in Fort Rice, N.D., to Adam and Marie (Gangl) Hilfer. She attended grade school at St. Joseph School and graduated from Mandan High School. She went on to St. Alecius School of Nursing.

She married Peter Fettig on April 16, 1952, in Mandan, N.D. They lived in Mandan until 1958, when they moved to a farm in Bangor Township, near Brooten. She worked at the Paynesville Hospital from 1958 to 1962, and then at Glacial Ridge Hospital and Glenwood Retirement Village. She was also the Brooten Public School nurse from 1968 to 1973. She helped Peter on the farm until he died in 1991. She moved to Brooten in 2003.
She was a member of St. Donatus Catholic Church, St. Donatus Christian Mothers, and volunteered at the Brooten Food Shelf and the Glenwood Senior Center.
She is survived by her children: Lyle (and Debbie) of Brooten, Dave (and Diana) of St. Joseph, Curt (and Carla) of Willmar, Ron (and Julie) of Niobrara, Neb., Les (and Emma) of Blaine, Lori (and Don) Darling of Somerset, Wis.; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and five siblings: Phyllis (and Don) Fairaizl of Mandan, N.D., Gert (and Joe) Schaff of Mandan, N.D., Ellen (and Clarence) Small of Bismarck, N.D., Arthur (and Bernice) Hilfer, and Dennis (and Sheri) Hilfer, all of Mandan, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and two brothers, one in infancy.
