Lowell L. Becker Sr.
June 8, 1920 - April 16, 2006
BUFFALO LAKE -- Lowell Lester Becker Sr., 85, of Buffalo Lake died Sunday at his daughter's home in West St. Paul.
The service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Zion United Methodist Church in Buffalo Lake.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the church and for one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home in Hector. Memorials are preferred to Zion United Methodist Church.

He was born June 8, 1920, in rural Sibley County to Benjamin and Lydia (Koberstein) Becker. He attended country school through the eighth grade and graduated from Buffalo Lake High School in 1938. He was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1941 and served in the Aleutian Islands and Germany for four years.
He married Harriet Boehlke on May 21, 1944. He was the owner of Becker's Shoe Store in Buffalo Lake for more than 60 years and was a longtime bus driver for the Buffalo Lake Schools.
He was a member of the American Legion, Buffalo Lake Ambulance Service, Buffalo Lake Fire Department, Zion United Methodist Church and the Buffalo Lake Lions Club.
He is survived by his wife; children: Lowell Jr. (and Jennie) of Cambridge, Barbara (and Tim) Dickie of West St. Paul; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Lucille Moritz of Goshen, Ind.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
