WILLMAR (Staff reports) - A town hall meeting to discuss transportation needs in west central Minnesota, including proposed improvements to state Highway 23, will be 4:30 p.m. today in Willmar.
Lt. Gov. Tina Smith, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Transportation Charlie Zelle and Agriculture Commissioner Dave Frederickson will meet with farm and business leaders and House and Senate members to discuss Minnesota’s transportation system and farm-to-market rural roads and bridges.
According to MnDOT, about half of the state’s roads and 40 percent of bridges are more than 50 years old.
The transportation town hall meeting will be held in the multi-purpose room on the lower level of the Kandiyohi County Health and Human Service Building, 2200 23rd St. N.E.
It will be moderated by Doug Peterson, president of Minnesota Farmers Union.
