WILLMAR -- Lucille Elizabeth Ehmke, 95, of Willmar died Tuesday at Bethesda Pleasant View Nursing Home in Willmar.

The service will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Fireside Room of the Willmar United Methodist Church. A private burial will be at Brook Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Memorials are preferred to the Rice Hospice, Willmar Area Food Shelf or the Willmar United Methodist Church. Arrangements are with Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar.

She was born Sept. 17, 1910, in Brook Park, Pine County, to Herbert and Elizabeth (Ziegler) Williams. She grew up and received her education in the Brook Park community. She graduated from Brook Park High School and attended the MacPhail School of Music and Dramatic Arts in Minneapolis for four years. She was a leading actress on the Upper Midwest Chatauqua Circuit for three years.

She married Donald Ehmke on June 12, 1935, in Cloquet. They lived in St. Cloud, Askov, and Markville. They moved to Willmar in 1942. She was the coordinator of the Kandiyohi County Food Stamp Program from 1966 to 1975.

She was active in the women's organization of the United Methodist Church and did volunteer work for Minnesota Legal Service. She also served on the Minnesota Board on Aging from 1983 to 1990 and received its Distinguished Service Award.

She is survived by her granddaughter: Jenifer Butera (and Frank Blomgren) of St. Paul.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1976; and her daughter: Lisbeth Williams in 1999.
