GLENWOOD -- Lucille K. Nienaber, 88, of Alexandria, formerly of Hancock, died Saturday at Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Sacred Heart in Glenwood. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Hancock.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood, with a parish prayer service at 7:30 p.m.
She was born Sept. 25, 1917, on the family farm in Hancock to John and Mary (Carlson) Fitzgerald. She attended school in Hancock and graduated in 1933. She attended the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

She married Charles Nienaber on Feb. 22, 1941, in Morris. They lived in various locations, including Minnesota and California. She owned and operated two beauty salons and worked as a counselor for many years in Sauk Centre at the Minnesota Department of Corrections for girls. They owned and operated Rocky Ledge Resort in Ray. She retired in the late 1970s. Charles died in 1996. She moved to Knute Nelson Memorial Home.
She is survived by her children: Charlene (and DuWayne) Nelson of Yuma, Ariz., John (and Carol) Nienaber of Garfield, Dwayne (and Elaine) Nienaber of Owatonna, Donald (and Jane) Nienaber of Sartell, Bonita Nienaber of Alexandria; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother: John (and Ida) Fitzgerald of Morris.
She was preceded in death by her husband and one great-grandson.
