BIRD ISLAND -- Lucille Mae Swanson, 80, of rural Bird Island, died Friday at her home.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at First Lutheran Church in Hector. Burial will be in the Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today at the Hughes Funeral Home in Hector and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church.

She was born Nov. 6, 1927, to Robert and Alma (Holmgren) Peterson. She graduated from Hector High School and went on to work as a bookkeeper at the Hector Motor Company until the time of her marriage.
She married Oscar Swanson on Feb. 12, 1949. In 1950 they purchased the home farm where she lived until her death. She was a partner in all aspects of the farm operation.
She taught Sunday School and was a member of WELCA. She was a member of a local birthday club.
She is survived by her daughters: Mary (and Mike) Jacobs of Marshall, and Nancy (and Karl) Cambronne of Golden Valley; daughter-in-law: Mary Swanson of Apple Valley; son: Steven (and Thea) Swanson of rural Bird Island; eight grandchildren: two great-grandchildren: brothers: Russell (and Gladys) Peterson of Chisago City and Norman (and Marjorie) Peterson of rural Hector.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1994, an infant daughter, and her son, Robert, in 1978.
