Bird Island native Kaelene Lundstrum captured the silver medal Friday in the heptathlon while competing in the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Oshkosh, Wis.
A sophomore from Gustavus Adolphus College, Lundstrum won the high jump and shot put, placed sixth in the long jump, ninth in the javelin throw, 10th in the 200-meter dash, 12th in the 100-meter hurdles and 13th in the 800-meter run to tally 4,762 points.
Outside of the heptathlon, Lundstrum also finished 10th in the high jump on Friday.
