WILLMAR - The Willmar Area League of Women Voters will host two upcoming forums with city and county candidates for primary election contests.

Candidates for the Kandiyohi County Board of Commissioners in District 1 and District 3 will be featured in a forum set for 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Willmar Municipal Utilities Auditorium.

On Aug. 9, candidates for Willmar mayor will be featured at 6:30 p.m. and candidates for the office of Kandiyohi County Sheriff at 7:45 p.m. at the utilities auditorium.

Three candidates are running for the County Board in District 1: Dale L. Anderson, George "Corky" Berg and Stephen Iverson.

Four candidates are seeking election to the Kandiyohi County Board in District 3: Dale H. Anderson, Duane Hultgren, Rollie Nissen and Bruce Shuck.

The contest for Willmar mayor has three candidates: Marv Calvin, Zeke Dahl and Steve Peppin.

There are four candidates for Kandiyohi County Sheriff: Daniel Burns, Eric Holien, Todd Neumann and Greg Stehn.

The primary election is Aug. 14. The top two vote-getters in each contest will advance to the general election Nov. 6.
